Brief description:

The University of Canterbury Master’s Scholarships are open to international students and are tenable for study towards a Master’s degree at the University of Canterbury.

Number of Awards:

At least 10 scholarships in each year will be reserved for international students, whose applications will be ranked in a process separate from those of other candidates (based on 2010 information).

Scholarship value/inclusions:

$12,000 per annum, plus tuition fees (NZ domestic rate)

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must have met the academic requirements for enrollment in the relevant thesis, dissertation, research project, creative work or performance by 10 December for those who apply by 15 October, or by 17 July for those who apply by 15 May.

Every scholar must also comply with the regulations of the relevant Master’s degree.

Know how the apply for a Masters Programme here. The scholarships are awarded, on application, by the Council on the recommendation of the Academic Board. Application for a scholarship must be made to the Scholarships Office, University of Canterbury not later than 15 October of each year. Please note that applications forms are only available from approximately 8 weeks ahead of the closing date.
