Purple Valentine Concert: Olu Jacobs, Alibaba, Darey And Othera For The Event

As part of the activities lined up for revellers this season of love, a group of upwardly mobile dudes and damsels from Abuja alongside celebrated compere Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi also known as DBL, are packaging a special event tagged, the Purple Valentine. These youths under the umbrella of No Compromise Club are out to change how Valentine is celebrated especially among their peers.

The club in collaboration with celebrity compere and the woman behind Abuja’s foremost event production company DOXA Digital Nigeria, Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi along with the FCT Secretariat of Social Development and other notable partners and celebrity personalities, are behind the forthcoming gathering.

According to them, the first event, the ‘Reach Out & Touch!’ corporate social initiative, holds this Saturday, at the FCT Cultural Centre in Garki, Area 10.
“We intend to host about 100 elderly and aged citizens resident in the FCT to an afternoon of love, fun and care featuring free drugs and medical consultations, gift packages containing valentine goodies, goodwill messages and celebrity guest appearances.”
The second event is the Purple Valentine dinner concert, which holds at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton on Monday, February 14.

The aim of the Purple Valentine event is to produce an upscale concert and fund raising dinner for the ‘Reach Out & Touch’ initiative.
The concert will open with a sizzling red carpet purple cocktail with celebrity interviews. Darey Art Alade and DBL will co-host the romantic evening, with Darey performing a medley of love songs.

“An interactive centre-stage “DBL” talk show showcasing celebrity couples such as Nollywood stars Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva, Mr. and Mrs. Alibaba among other couples on their love ‘secrets’ and love lives will also be part of the evening fun.”
Moreover, there will also be live musical performances by Cobhams, soul singer, Bez, Jazz diva, Yinka Davies and others alongside poetry readings by Eugenia Abu and Lady Inspirologist Fex.
