Impeach Goodluck Jonathan, Pastor Tunde Bakare Tells National Assembly
Pastor Tunde Bakare the convener of the Save Nigeria Group spoke yesterday at an anti-fuel subsidy removal rally in Ojota, Lagos calling on the National Assembly to begin the process of impeaching President Goodluck Jonathan. Pastor Bakare said Jonathan had committed an impeachable offence for illegal deduction for taking money from the Federation Account.
The 2012 budget was N4.749 trillion. They budgeted 800million dollars for turn-around maintenance and did not maintain our refineries. The budget they have been voting for is for the government by the government and for themselves. It is not for us therefore, they cannot punish us in order to sustain this budget.
“If the National Assembly will do their duties, time has come, because the President has committed an impeachable offence by taking money before paying into the Federation Account; for spending it before the budget.
“Right now, we are asking our money back. They gave the subsidy money to those who sponsored its election. Nigerians are wise now”
According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan by himself without any budget, without telling the governors, without telling the Senate, spent the total sum of N1.3 trillion on subsidy.
