Soldiers Patrol Lagos Street
The soldiers and military personnel deployed to Lagos State by the Federal Government of Nigeria during the fuel subsidy rally at Gani Fawehinmi Park at Ojota were still seen patrolling the area. The call by the State Governor, Babatunde Fashola for them to leave has fallen on deaf ears.
At 12:00pm on tuesday, a group of military men and at least one armoured tank was seen waiting at that park. At Ojuelegba there was also the presence of heavy military personnel.
At the Ojota area, a group of eight military officers was sitting in the middle pf the place that hosted thousands of protesters few days bacNot threatened by the presence of soldiers on Lagos roads, Pastor Tunde Bakare who leads the Save Nigeria Group(SNG) said on Tuesday that it would hold its victory rally on Saturday at the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota.
The Pastor Tunde Bakare led group said it has concluded plans to draft the Federal Government and his agencies to court over the deployment of soldiers on the state roads, describing it as a breach on the constitutional rights of Nigerian citizens.
