LG polls,ACN leads in Ogun state
The Ogun state Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) have released the results of seven local government areas in Saturday’s local government elections and the Action Congress of Nigeria is leading the pack.
The results were read out by the chairman of the commission, Alhaja Risikat Ogunfemi, early Sunday morning.
The results released so far, shows that the Action congress of Nigeria, ACN, won in all the seven local government areas.
These are the figures:
Ijebu North: ACN 60,604 with 11 Councillors
Ogun waterside: ACN– 20,662 with 10 Councillors PDP 444, PPN 2,469
Yewa north: ACN-17,674 with 10 Councillors
Yewa south: ACN 11,672 with 9 Councillors , PDP 5,551, PPN 2,029
Ewekoro: ACN-14,090 with 10 Councillors, PDP 3,275
Ifo: ACN-10,896 with 11 Councillors PDP 2,938, PPN 9
Ijebu North-East: ACN-8,104 with 10 Councillors.
Presenting the results at the commission’s headquarters in Abeokuta, the state capital, Alhaja Ogunfemi said the candidates have complied with the requirement of the law by scoring majority votes cast,they have been elected and returned.
The elections was however marred by low turn out in most of the polling centres as movement of people and vehicles were restricted except those on election or other essential duties until 3 pm when the polls closed.
