Third Mainland Bridge to close down for two days
As the on-going repairs on the Third Mainland Bridge progresses, motorists may experience complete diversion of traffic from the bridge on Sunday, July 29 and Sunday, August 5, from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight.
Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, explained that traffic on the bridge needed to undergo total diversion at stated period to allow for the concrete casting of one of the three expansion joints undergoing repair on the Lagos Island-bound section to set.
The other two joints, may also be done on August 5. According to him, the concrete casting and drying process requires zero-vibration, hence the complete diversion of vehicular traffic away from the bridge from Oworonshoki end to Adeniji-Adele end on Sunday, July, 29 and Sunday, August 5.
