Facebook bans woman after posting a breast feeding photo

In this day and age that we live in, I personally think as innocent as pictures like this may be at the time they were taken; once you put them out there, you lose control over what anyone could do with them. There are too many sickos in the world – period. But that’s just my opinion.

A Seattle mom has been banned from the social networking site, Facebook, for 7 days. Her ‘offence’? Well, Lauren Ferrari posted a photo which showed her 5 year old daughter pretending to nurse her 2 year old daughter.

Within 24 hours of posting the photo; Facebook took the picture down and placed a ban on Lauren. According to the site, Lauren had violated the site’s policies.

The police also agree with Facebook’s action – Stefanie Thomas of the Seattle Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children has said that Lauren Ferrari’s decision to post the photo was ‘poor parenting’ because it’s impossible to control where the photo might end up.

“That’s something that this family, that these girls, are going to have to ultimately deal with” she was quoted as saying.

Lauren however, doesn’t think the photo was inappropriate and defends it saying:

“When I posted it, I said, ‘She says she’s nursing her baby’ … She didn’t say, ‘Mommy look, she’s kissing my boobie.”
