National Gospel Musical Reality Show(registration starts now)

For the very first time in the history of musical reality shows in Nigeria, there would be a reality show which will be headlined by Christians who have passion for singing and have been yearning for a platform where they can express and showcase their musical talents; this dream has now been brought alive by Destiny Child Gospel Talent Hunt.

The Destiny Child platform is one that has been developed to showcase and harness the hidden talents in the youths of today who cannot shine on other secular platforms in the country because of the style and nature of their songs.

Registration for the Destiny Child is free. Interested youths are hereby enjoined to visit the website at www.destinychild.com.ng.

Auditions will be conducted in six zones;

Abuja: Musa Yar’Adua Centre,  Thursday – Saturday, August 2-4, 2012,

To further add spice to the musical reality show, popular gospel act, Samsong will lead the panel of judges; other members of the panel include U-cheena and Tim Godfrey as they are well-tested and at the same time quality musicians who are very much in tune with what a modern musician should be and the qualities one should possess.

The viewing audience will have the opportunity to follow and vote for their candidates to ascertain the three winners of Destiny Child Season One (1).

The first episode will be aired on Sunday, September 16, 2012 and every other Sunday till December 9 when the finals and the ‘Destiny Child’ will emerge.

The first prize winner will go home with three million naira, a brand new car and a record deal. The runner up will get two million naira and a record deal while the 2nd runner up will go home with a million naira and a record deal amongst other prizes.

Winners will be determined by the viewing public’s vote through sms messages and the judges at 50 percent respectively.

In a statement by U-cheena, the producer of the show “98% of secular musicians are Christians who got their career boost while singing in the church, and based on their individual vocational assessment, they were certified as great talented musicians, but absence of potential sponsorship within Nigerian Christian community literally deprived them opportunities in gospel music hence the reason they subscribed to secular music which attracts sponsorship based on its societal acceptance and moral decadence in the Nigerian community and entertainment sector’’.
