President Jonathan and wife leave for Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica

President Goodluck Jonathan is set to depart Abuja today to attend Trinidad and Tobago’s Emancipation Day as well as Jamaica’s independence anniversary. Patience Jonathan will go with the President. The review of the Kambule Street Procession with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar would be one of the major events marking the Trinidad and Tobago Emancipation Day  tomorrow.

Dr. Reuben Abati, the special adviser on media and publicity in a statement issued on Monday said President Jonathan would also visit Professor George Maxwell Richards, president of Trinidad and Tobago and his wife, Dr Jean Richards, and meet with members of the Nigerian community.

President Goodluck Jonathan would visit Jamaica on Thursday, with a special commemorative session of parliament in his honour, after which he would be hosted by the Jamaican Prime Minister, Portia Simpson-Miller.


The  President  would be back to Nigeria on Saturday.
