Pandemonium broke out in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State in the early hours of Friday. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at a police station, shattering parts of the police station and some residential buildings close-by. One person was reportedly injured
It was discovered that the explosive device was planted by some unknown persons and exploded at about 12:45a.m when people were still in bed.
The explosion caused an uproar in Rikkos part of the local government, and forced people to run out of their beds.
Captain Salisu Mustapha, the Media Officer of the Special Task Force in-charge of the security of the state in a statement issued and signed revealed that the IED exploded between the police post and some residence in Layin Walin Rikkos of Jos North Local Government Area at about 12:05 a.m.
The police post, three other houses and a vehicle were affected by the blast. The injured individual has been taken to the hospital
