Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid today

Chelsea will be without suspended captain John Terry for Friday’s Super Cup match against Atletico Madrid.The defender has however returned to training following the neck injury that ruled him out of Saturday’s win over Newcastle.Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns for Friday’s game, with Marko Marin again expected to miss out with his hamstring problem.

Long-term absentee Kader is the only injury concern for Atletico.Diego Simeone is expected to name an unchanged side to the one which put four past Athletic Bilbao earlier this week.

Thibault Cortois is eligible to play against his employers after re-signing for Los Rojiblancos on loan from Chelsea for another season.Striker Radamel Falcao, who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, scored a hat-trick against Bilbao and is likely to feature for the Spaniards.

New Chelsea signing Eden Hazard has played just three games for Chelsea but has already made a big impact for the Londoners.The Belgian playmaker, who will travel to Monaco with his new side on Friday, is hopeful of picking up his first trophy for his new club.

“Atletico are a great team with great players,” he said.

“I hope it will be a good game and that we win, to claim my first trophy for Chelsea.

“But we expect nothing less than a tough match against a great team. It will not be easy.”
