Increase in unemployment,lack of creativity- Fashola
Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State Governor disclosed on Thursday at the graduation of the first set of health volunteers under the State Health Volunteers Scheme at Alausa, Ikeja that many courses offered at the tertiary institutions in the country are no longer relevant to the economic needs of the country.
He further pointed out that the curriculum in schools needs to be reviewed. There is a mismatch between realities of our society and our tertiary institutions. We are producing graduates in courses we no longer need.”. School curriculum should be reviewed in order to meet the realities of job availability.
Fashola urged the health volunteers to work within the codes of conduct and encourage those willing to be health practitioners.
