Etisalat awards scholarship to 600 students in tertiary institution
A total of 600 students studying computer science, electronic engineering and business management in the nation’s tertiary institutions have benefited from Etisalat’s Merit Award, Managing Director of Etisalat Nigeria Limited, Mr. Steven Evans, has said.
Evans said this at a ceremony organised by the company to present 2012 awards to 80 beneficiaries of the programme from the northern part of country in Abuja.
The Etisalat boss said the company was passionate about sustainable development and explained why it has focused much of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts on education which he described as the backbone of progress.
Given this passion, he added, the company has established four major programmes on its education platform: the merit awards, adopt-a school initiative; teacher training programme; and the Etisalat CSR Centre at the Lagos Business School.
