Gombe lawmaker abducted by gunmen
The member representing Gombe North Constituency in the Gombe state House of Assembly, Honourable Jalo Ganga was Sunday, abducted in Gombe.
Vanguard investigations revealed that Hon. Ganga was abducted around 5:30 am while returning from a mosque after the early morning prayers.
The State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Sule who confirmed the incident said the perpetrators are believed to have come on a motorcycle and forced the victim into a vehicle leaving the lawmaker’s phones at the scene.
He added that investigation has commenced and the police has spread a security net across the state to apprehend the perpetrators.
Hon. Aganga is the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations.
His abduction is coming just two days after the Governor of the State, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo presented the 2013 Budget estimate to the House.
It is not however ascertained if his kidnap is in any way connected with the presentation of the Budget.
